The Selection Panel plays a key role in:

• Setting clear selection criteria for national team consideration
• Evaluating players based on tournament results, performance data, and observed play
• Reviewing applications and conducting trials where appropriate
• Selecting squads for international events such as the Bainbridge Cup, World Championships, and international friendlies
• Collaborating with national coaches to ensure team balance and development goals are met
• Ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency throughout the selection process

The panel is made up of a small group of trusted individuals with experience in high-level play, coaching, or performance assessment. It includes:

> Senior players or coaches

> A representative from the Pickleball Ireland Board

> Independent observers (to ensure objectivity)
